Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Planning and coordinating career education, mentorship, internship, and experiential learning programmes for students to enhance their career readiness and employability;
- Providing and coordinating career advisory services, trainings and learning resources on career planning, preparation and soft skills for students;
- Organising activities, such as tours and sharing sessions, to help students explore career opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, Chinese Mainland and overseas locations;
- Collaborating with HKMU faculty, colleagues, alumni and industry partners to implement initiatives to nurture students’ career development, such as company visits, job shadowing and mentoring, career sharing events, employer networking activities and career fair; and
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Affairs or his/her nominee
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A recognised degree with at least 5 years’ post-qualification work experience;
- Relevant experiences in student career development, career advisory and counselling, coaching, mentoring, and event planning would be a definite advantage;
- Relevant experiences in supporting specific student segments, e.g. non-local and SEN students would be a plus;
- Be sensitive and keep abreast of the development of the regional career market;
- A high sense of self-motivation and ownership, be a problem solver who is capable of working independently and collaboratively; and
- Excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.
