Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm, 40 hours per week

Starting Salary Range: $15.68-$17.18 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.
Position Summary
The Assistant Teacher aids in the preparation and implementation of a program appropriate for a designated group of young children. This position reports to the Classroom Supervisor/Lead Teacher.
Required Qualifications
- Requires a Technical Certification.
- Required certifications and pre-employment verifications: Active Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR, Health Assessment and TB Test, Child Development, Signs and Symptoms of Illness, Child Abuse and Neglect Mandated Reporting, Fingerprint Based Background Check.
- Will need to be able to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs.
Position details include but are not limited to:
- Child Engagement & Daily Care: Engage with the children; teach, change diapers and potty train, lead group and outside time, set up meals, conduct rest time, and lead social play activities.
- Curriculum & Instructional Support: Assist with the implementation of lesson plans, activities, or classroom activities. Remain current on Early Childhood Education trends and best practices.
- Compliance & Regulatory Standards: Uphold and follow all Hiersteiner Child Development Center (HCDC), Kansas Department of Health and Environment childcare licensing, the Child and Adult Federal Food Program regulations, and National Association for the Education of Young Children accreditation requirements.
- Family & Community Relationships: Develop and establish reciprocal relationships with families; greet families on arrival and departure, maintain daily information for each child, and conduct parent/teacher conferences.
- Workplace & Environmental Maintenance: Perform light cleaning after activities and meals. Maintain a positive and professional work environment with colleagues and families.
- Other duties as assigned: Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity, may be updated at any time at the discretion of management.
