Assistant Teaching Professor to teach geospatial courses, advise students, and provide meaningful service to the Department of Geography at Miami University, a top-ranked, undergraduate-focused, liberal arts institution.
Job Description
The successful candidate will contribute a range of courses on geospatial technologies and applications—from the introductory to advanced—to the department’s mission to apply integrative thinking and spatial reasoning skills to linked social and environmental challenges.
The successful candidate’s professional and/or pedagogical background could include applications including analyses of environmental systems (climate change, natural and human disturbance dynamics), social-economics (urban growth and development), and population patterns (habitat fragmentation, migration, etc.) and/or skills like Machine Learning, Object Detection, Remote Sensing, and Spatial Statistics/Quantitative Methods.
Minimum Qualifications
Required: Ph.D. in Geography or closely related discipline by time of appointment.
Consideration will be given to applicants with remote sensing and programming language experience.
