Assistant Teaching Professor in Biology

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of New Brunswick Saint John invites applications for a 9-month term position with the potential for renewal in biology, beginning August 3, 2026. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

We seek to hire an Assistant Teaching Professor in Biology with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Their primary teaching responsibilities will be first year undergraduate Biology courses required for the growing Bachelor of Health and Nursing programmes. These include lectures and laboratories for Human Anatomy & Physiology, and laboratories for Introductory Microbiology. Applicants are required to have an MSc (PhD preferred) in Biology or a closely related discipline and demonstrated excellence in teaching.

The Department of Biological Sciences is an interdisciplinary department that offers 4-year BSc degrees in Biology, Marine Biology, Applied Coastal Ecology and Biology-Psychology, as well as minors in chemistry and geology. The department also offers research-based MSc and PhD degrees in Biology. It has 21 faculty members with research expertise in a variety of fields of biology, chemistry, geology, and physics. The salary range and fringe benefits for this position is defined in the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) 2022 - 2025 Collective Agreement sections 35 and 36B.
