Position Details
The School of Educational Studies at the University of Washington Bothell invites applications for a teaching faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, with an anticipated start date of September 2027. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a nine-month, 3-year appointment beginning September 16, 2027.
The base salary range for this position will be $9,345 - $9,845 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of undergraduate courses offered as part of the Developmental and Youth Studies degree, including, for example: Theories of Learning, Culture, & Identity, Human Growth and Learning, Children in Schools & Society, and Adolescents in Schools & Society. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in innovative and effective pedagogy (face-to-face as well as hybrid platforms) and will be committed to working with diverse student and community populations. All University of Washington faculty members engage in teaching and service.

Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in education, educational studies, learning sciences, human or child development, or related field, or foreign equivalent
- 2+ years' K-12 teaching experience or equivalent professional experience
- 1+ years' experience in teaching lower and/or upper-division courses that examine child and youth development
- 1+ years' experience in teaching with face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online platforms
