"Assistant Teaching Professor in Medical Laboratory Science"

Ontario Tech University invites applications for a Teaching Faculty position at the level of Assistant Teaching Professor in Medical Laboratory Science, with a special interest in histopathology or histotechnology. This position is subject to budgetary approval and would start on January 1, 2026, or as soon as it is filled.

Responsibilities: Prepare, deliver, and grade course materials, assignments, quizzes, and exams. Be available for student consultations and supervise teaching assistants. Demonstrate proficiency in integrating technology into teaching, particularly in histopathology, including microanatomy, histotechnology techniques, and related areas. Additional assets include expertise in clinical microbiology, biochemistry, hematology, transfusion science, simulation, and molecular techniques.

Required Education: Master's degree in a related field; completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Science program; certification through the CSMLS as a Medical Laboratory Technologist; and registration (or eligibility) with the CMLTO, including all specialties.

Required Experience: Proven record of professional work in the medical laboratory field, with a minimum of 3 years of recent relevant experience in a clinical laboratory. Previous post-secondary teaching experience is an asset.

The successful candidate will follow a 70% Teaching, 20% Service, and 10% Other workload. The position is within the bargaining unit represented by the UOIT Faculty Association.
