Assistant Teaching Professor
An Assistant Teaching Professor of Physics faculty position is available starting August 2026. The successful application will be teaching primarily introductory courses for non-majors, though other courses may be needed as determined by the department chair and will participate in departmental service-related activities.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be expected to teach full-time (12 credit hours) lecture and laboratory courses primarily in the areas of introductory physics and astronomy.
The successful applicant will contribute intellectual and professional service to the department at a level associated with contract-faculty-positions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, physics education, or related discipline from an accredited institution by date of appointment.
- Teaching experience at the college level, which may include typical graduate assistantship assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching introductory physics and/or astronomy courses for majors, non-majors, and/or pre-service elementary education majors.
- Effective communication skills in classroom and laboratory settings.
