Summary
The Assistant Volleyball Coach assists the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach in all phases of the NCAA Division I women’s volleyball program. The Assistant Coach assumes the responsibility of running the Women’s Volleyball program in the absence of the Head Coach. This position works under general supervision.
Essential Functions
- Assists the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach with women’s volleyball practices and matches to help develop a competitive program. Instructs student-athletes, teaching the fundamental skills and training procedures to help them achieve peak performance. Supervises drills and exercises during practices. Responsible for conducting specific workouts for individuals and the team, in the absence of the Head Coach.
- Recruits prospective student-athletes to attract quality athletes to the program. Maintain and update records and statistics on desired prospects. Implement the use of Teamworks Software and utilize all the benefits of this package. Spend time organizing all the vital recruiting sites that need to be attended. The Assistant is responsible for conducting day-to-day plans goals and operational duties related to the team and the program.
- Scouts opponent’s matches to assist in developing a clear game plan to be conveyed to student athletes. Maintains records on game statistics, strategies, and personnel. Also scouts prospective student-athletes video.
- Performs other administrative duties assigned by the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach to assist the team. Oversees the safety and maintenance of equipment, supplies, facilities and all other related aspects of the Volleyball program.
- Assists with academic support services to ensure academic progress and degree completion of student-athletes.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Full-time.
- 35 hours per week.
- After hours and weekend work frequently required to attend games and related athletic events.
Salary Range
$48,000.00 - $55,000.00 annually.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 1 - 3 years of relevant experience
