1. Plans, establishes and reviews policies, operational goals
and objectives for the University regarding information systems
planning and use.
2. Directs the financial functions of the department and
controls expenditures to ensure that they are within budgeted
amounts.
3. Directs technology and administrative staff of the department
and provides guidance and technical work direction as needed.
4. Directs the specifications, design, procurement, development
and implementation of campus-based and system-based centralized
information systems.
5. Directs the data base management activities of campus-based
and system-based information systems.
6. Interface with business owners throughout the University
System to coordinate accomplishments.
7. Supports UHS business owners in the evaluation of new
technologies and leads system-wide initiatives to improve
efficiency and effectiveness of university processes in accordance
with business-defined priorities.
8. Establishes goals and objectives for areas of operation and
provides guidance in formulating plans and budgets to maintain and
enhance delivery of information technology services.
9. Collaborates with Information Technology leadership and
management staff regarding enterprise information technology
architecture, capacity, planning, security and usage.
10. Develops metrics and assessments regarding the effectiveness
of enterprise information system processes.
11. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and
theory in a professional discipline or through general business
management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained
through a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formal
training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly
related to the type of work being performed.
