Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach (3rd)
Job Summary
CU Boulder Athletics encourages applications for an Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach (3rd)! The purpose of this position is to assist the head coach in all aspects of the continued development of the Colorado Women's Lacrosse Program. The position holds significant responsibilities in player development, scouting, practice planning, and administrative work with the other departments that play an integral role in the lacrosse program's success (i.e. compliance, marketing, etc.). Depending on the coach's expertise they will hold significant role in coordination of our defensive or offensive systems along side our staff. Lastly, this position will have a large focus on recruiting - attending recruiting events throughout the year and evaluating potential recruits, building relationships with club and high school coaches, planning and hosting recruits on campus. This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department's Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Conference and the NCAA.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Coaching Responsibilities
The assistant coach will devote most significant amount of their time to coaching responsibilities. They will have a large focus on player skill development. The coach should be well versed in both our offensive and defensive systems and assist in development of our systems based on head coaches division of responsibilities. The assistant coach also will have a significant impact on student athlete development including monitoring academic performance and student athlete well being. The assistant coach will have responsibilities in scouting and practice planning as designated by the head coach.
Recruiting
This position will assist our recruiting coordinator in all recruiting needs on and off campus. They will have a large role in evaluating talent through film, recruiting tournaments and HS games. They will be asked to identify and build relationships with prospects that fit the Colorado Lacrosse Program both athletically, academically and socially and who will represent the University in a positive way. They will additionally focus on building positive relationships with both HS and club lacrosse coaches across the country.
Outreach
Work with local clubs, high schools, professional teams, donors/boosters who have high interest in lacrosse, to assist with the marketing and promotion of the team and summer camps to further promote the student-athletes in our program, the sport of lacrosse and the University in a positive light.
Camp
Serve as a director for all our lacrosse camps. This will include planning curriculum for the clinics/camps, making groupings, hiring staff, providing instruction at the camps/clinics, etc.
Administrative Duties
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of NCAA, Conference, MPSF Conference, University and departmental rules and regulations. The assistant coach will be involved in many different administrative duties as directed by the head coach.
