Description of the research area and expectations towards the Candidate
The position is associated with the development of an interdisciplinary research and teaching team in the field of image information engineering. The team's work combines vision systems and computer vision, AI-based image data analysis, VR/XR technologies, and the integration of measurement systems and Internet of Things devices.
We are looking for a candidate holding a Master of Science in Engineering degree or equivalent, with an early-stage, documented record of publications and project experience. Practical experience in designing and building vision systems, implementing analytical components, and working with image data in research and application-oriented contexts is expected.
The successful candidate will participate in preparing image data for training AI models, assessing the quality and readiness of HD data, building data-processing pipelines, extracting motion features, developing baseline and temporal models, and integrating machine-learning components with analytical prototypes and software infrastructure. The work is expected to include, among others, biomedical, industrial, sports, diagnostic, and training applications.
An important part of the position will be shared responsibility for developing the vision systems and IoT laboratory and maintaining its operational readiness for teaching and research. This will include preparing workstations, demonstrators, and laboratory instructions, as well as supporting students during classes and project work.

Specific Requirements
The candidate should:
- meet the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science, as amended;
- hold a Master of Science in Engineering degree or equivalent in the field of engineering and technology, particularly in a degree programme related to automation, electronics, electrical engineering, space technologies, computer engineering, telecommunications, mechatronics, biomedical engineering, or a related field;
- demonstrate aptitude for research and teaching and readiness for further academic development, including the preparation of a doctoral dissertation;
- have an early-stage research record comprising at least three peer-reviewed scientific publications as an author or co-author, including at least one publication indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection or Scopus;
- have experience in teamwork confirmed by participation in at least two scientific or R&D projects, including at least one externally funded project;
- have experience in developing applications or components of vision systems, image processing and analysis, or computer vision, confirmed by a publication, participation in an R&D project, or a documented implementation;
- have experience working with image and video data covering at least selected aspects of data acquisition, quality control, dataset preparation, feature extraction, motion analysis, algorithm validation, or AI model integration;
- have practical programming skills in Python and knowledge of libraries used for data and image analysis, particularly OpenCV or equivalent tools;
- have basic knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine-learning methods used in the analysis of images and temporal sequences;
- have experience in IoT systems and in integrating sensors, measurement devices, or embedded systems with software, confirmed by a scientific publication, participation in a project, or a documented implementation;
- have experience in the field of digital twins, confirmed by a publication, participation in a project, or a documented implementation;
- demonstrate analytical thinking, the ability to document results and work independently, and the ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team;
- demonstrate command of the Polish language sufficient to conduct teaching activities and prepare documentation;
- demonstrate command of the English language at a minimum of B2 level, sufficient to use scientific literature and technical documentation, prepare publications, and communicate in international projects.

Selection process
The competition is the first stage of the procedure for employing an academic teacher specified in the Statutes of the Military University of Technology, and a positive outcome constitutes the basis for further proceedings. The final decision on employing the person selected through the competition is made by the Rector.
Selected candidates may be invited to an interview, during which the committee may request a short presentation of the candidate's achievements and examples of vision systems, analytical components, IoT solutions, or demonstrators.
The University reserves the right to close the competition without selecting a candidate and without providing a reason. The University does not provide accommodation.
After completion of the recruitment process, applications that do not meet the formal requirements and all remaining applications, except that of the selected candidate, will be destroyed one month after the end of the competition procedure.
