The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.
Requirements for the position of Assistant
- Enrollment in a doctoral school (in the case of applying for the position of Assistant).
- Proficiency in Polish sufficient to conduct academic classes in this language, confirmed by a B2 certificate for non-native speakers.
- Proficiency in English sufficient to conduct academic classes in this language (minimum B2 certificate).
- Scientific achievements in the field of atmospheric sciences (e.g., bioaerology, air quality, meteorology, climatology, modelling atmospheric processes, meteorological and atmospheric pollution measurements), including authorship/co-authorship of at least one publication from the last five years in journals indexed in the Web of Science or Scopus databases, with a minimum of 140 points (including one as the lead author). The works should be published or at least accepted for publication.
Expected skills
- Ability to conduct standard aerobiological monitoring.
- Experience in conducting and developing aerobiological monitoring methods using automatic detection techniques.
- Programming (R, Python) and the ability to learn programming languages, create code, and analyse data.
- Knowledge of GIS tools and working with spatial data.
- Ability to work with numerical pollution transport models.
A significant advantage for the candidate will be experience in managing a research project (e.g., NCN, NCBiR, HE, or H2020) and experience at a foreign institution.
Responsibilities at the workplace
- Independent and team-based conduct of scientific research.
- Conducting aerobiological monitoring in the Department.
- Publishing research results in internationally recognised journals.
- Applying for funding for scientific research in external competitions.
- Initiating and maintaining cooperation with other scientific units and the socio-economic environment.
- Teaching in Polish and English, supervising diploma theses, collaborating with scientific circles.
- Participating in organisational work of the Department, Institute, and Faculty, according to the position held (including participation and organisation of meetings, seminars, conferences, etc.).

- Summary of research and educational accomplishments as well as others, connected with organisation and popularisation of research.
- List scientific publications in the period no longer than the last 10 years, conference presentations, previous experience and other achievements in the field of organisation of scientific life and popularisation of science.
- List of research projects, including sources of funding and the role of the candidate in the project (project manager or participant).
- Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the applicant considers to be representative of his/her scientific output, or an explanation of their absence.
- Application for employment to the Rector of the University of Wrocław.
