JOB OFFER
for the appointment of
- one (1) candidate (m/f) for appointment to the associate position of Assistant in the scientific area of Social Sciences, field of Law, at the Department of Business Law, as a replacement for a temporarily absent employee, for a fixed term, full-time, until the temporarily absent employee returns to work.
Conditions
Candidates (m/f), in addition to the general conditions for establishing an employment relationship prescribed by the Labour Act (Official Gazette Nos. 93/14, 127/17, 98/19, 151/22, 46/23 and 64/23), must meet the conditions prescribed by the Higher Education and Scientific Activity Act (Official Gazette No. 119/22) and the Statute of the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb, as well as the following mandatory condition:
- completion of a university undergraduate and university graduate study programme, or an integrated university undergraduate and graduate study programme carrying a total of 300 ECTS credits and leading to the appropriate academic title; or completion of a pre-Bologna university undergraduate degree programme leading to a university-level qualification and the corresponding professional title.
Salary
The salary for the position of Assistant is determined in accordance with the Act on Salaries in Public Services (Official Gazette No. 155/23), the Regulation on Job Titles, Conditions for Placement and Coefficients for Salary Calculation in Public Services (Official Gazette No. 22/24), and other applicable regulations. The salary coefficient prescribed for the position of Assistant is 2.01. The salary is calculated by applying the stated coefficient to the applicable salary calculation base, together with the relevant supplements (a seniority supplement of 0.5% of the basic salary for each completed year of service) and other material rights in accordance with the law, collective agreement and other applicable regulations.
Required documentation
Candidates (m/f) must submit the following documentation with their application:
- application (hand-signed), with mandatory indication of the title of the position for which the candidate (m/f) is applying
- curriculum vitae
- proof of completion of the appropriate university study programme
- proof of the overall grade point average achieved during the study programme
- Croatian citizenship certificate (domovnica) or proof of citizenship of another country; foreign nationals must also submit proof of Croatian language proficiency at a minimum level of B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
Selection procedure
For the purpose of verifying compliance with the requirements and assessing candidates' professional knowledge, abilities and competences, the Faculty reserves the right to conduct one or more forms of selection procedure (interview, written or oral testing, foreign-language proficiency assessment, or other appropriate forms of assessment). Candidates who are included in the selection procedure will be informed in due time.
Right of priority in employment
Candidates (m/f) who are entitled to priority in employment under the Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families Act (Official Gazette Nos. 121/17, 98/19, 84/21 and 156/23) and/or the Civilian Victims of the Homeland War Act (Official Gazette No. 84/21) must invoke this right in their application and submit all prescribed documentation (evidence) proving the claimed right and the absence of any obstacles stipulated by the relevant special regulation for exercising the right of priority.
Candidates (m/f) invoking the right of priority in employment pursuant to Article 9 of the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities Act (Official Gazette Nos. 157/13, 152/14, 39/18 and 32/20) must submit all evidence demonstrating that they meet the required conditions, as well as proof of their established status as a person with a disability.
Candidates (m/f) entitled to priority in employment shall have priority over other candidates under equal conditions, provided that they have submitted a duly completed, complete and timely application, meet all conditions specified in the call, and achieve the best result in the relevant procedure (where such procedure forms part of the selection process).

Application deadline and method
The application deadline is 30 days from the date of publication of the call in Narodne novine (the Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia).

Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
