Skills/Qualifications
The following must be enclosed with the application:

- copy of the diploma on completion of the corresponding graduate or integrated study (in the fields of biomedical and/or natural sciences related to the interdisciplinary field of biotechnology in biomedicine and drug research)
- a motivation letter in which the candidate proposes their potential contribution to the development of the institution
- proof of knowledge of the Croatian language (for foreigners)
Advantage: Proficiency in laboratory work and familiarity with techniques for handling cell cultures, protein analysis, and chemical reactions, combined with exceptional motivation to work in the interdisciplinary field of biomedical science and drug development
Candidates whose mother tongue is not Croatian must also provide proof of knowledge of the Croatian language, level (B2) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Candidates who completed their studies outside the Republic of Croatia must submit a decision on the professional recognition of a foreign higher education qualification or proof of initiation of the procedure for obtaining it.
Specific Requirements
Candidates whose native language is not Croatian must also submit proof of knowledge of the Croatian language, level (B2) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Candidates who have acquired education outside the Republic of Croatia must submit a reasoned opinion from the competent agency on a foreign educational qualification or proof of initiating the procedure for acquiring the same. With candidates who submit a timely and proper application and meet the formal requirements of the competition, the Faculty of Biotechnology and Drug Development, University of Rijeka may conduct a test and/or interview to verify the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the tasks and duties of the position for which they are applying. Applications for the competition may be submitted by persons of both sexes. A candidate who does not respond to the test/interview will be considered to have withdrawn his/her application for the competition and will no longer be considered a candidate. The Faculty reserves the right to decide not to select a candidate or to cancel the competition without any specific explanation. Candidates who, based on special regulations – the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families (Official Gazette 121/17, 98/19, 84/21 and 156/23), Article 48 of the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War (Official Gazette 84/21), Article 48f of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids (Official Gazette 33/92, 57/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 02/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03, 148/13 and 98/19), Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette 157/13, 152/14., 39/18. and 32/20.), invoke the right to priority in employment, are obliged to invoke this right in their application for the competition and to attach all evidence required by special regulations for the exercise of this right. The aforementioned candidates shall exercise priority in employment in relation to other candidates, only under equal conditions.

Applicants will be notified of the results of the competition within 10 days of the end of the selection process on the Faculty of Biotechnology and Drug Development website.
