JOB DESCRIPTION

CIE and HeXie Academy invite applications for Assistant Professor/Associate Professor in Business, Management, and Entrepreneurship. We seek candidates whose research and teaching expertise aligns with one or more of the following priority areas:

• Innovation and Entrepreneurship
• Marketing and Digital Marketing
• Economics and Finance
• Accounting and Financial Management
• Business Statistics and Mathematics

We value candidates who demonstrate flexibility and openness in teaching arrangements, and who are willing to develop and deliver new modules within or across these areas in response to emerging academic and industry needs.

Candidates with experience or interest in applying business and management disciplines to industrial contexts such as biopharmaceuticals, semiconductors, advanced materials, or ageing-related industries are highly valued.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

1. Conduct cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research that bridges business and management with industrial ecosystem development and innovation strategy.
2. Publish high-impact research in leading academic journals and secure competitive external research funding, including both government-funded vertical projects and industry-sponsored horizontal projects.
3. Develop, lead, and deliver executive education programmes, industry-collaborative projects, and training camps in entrepreneurship and business innovation.
4. Supervise master's and doctoral students, including guiding dissertations and research practicums, and actively involve students in research activities.
5. Engage in the "Syntegrative Education" model by fostering deep collaboration with industry partners within Suzhou Industrial Park, Taicang, Kunshan, and beyond.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. A PhD in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, or a closely related field.
2. A demonstrable record of academic research and publication in reputable, peer-reviewed journals/conferences. Early-career applicants should show evidence of a strong and promising research pipeline.
3. Proven experience in teaching and research at the higher education level.
4. A strong alignment between research expertise and the strategic focus areas of CIE and HeXie Academy.
5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to teach in an English-medium, intercultural environment.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience in interdisciplinary curriculum design and new programme development, particularly at the postgraduate level.
2. Active engagement with the professional and industrial community.
3. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a collegial, interdisciplinary academic environment.
4. Familiarity with the higher education landscape in China and/or a keen interest in contributing to XJTLU's "3.0" educational mission.
