Job duties and responsibilities for this tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position include:
- Teaching and advising in the undergraduate Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences program;
Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or closely related field from a regionally accredited university completed by the time the contract begins.
- A clearly articulated research agenda or scholarly record commensurate to the rank of Assistant Professor.
- An active commitment to working with diverse populations and fostering socially just, culturally responsive, and antiracist practices in higher education or community settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College teaching experience in Exercise Physiology and one of the following courses: Exercise Metabolism & Nutrition, or Human Anatomy & Physiology, or Senior Capstone;
- ACSM-EP, NSCA-CSCS, or similar certification;
- Evidence of peer-reviewed journal publications and successful grant writing;
- Ability to advise and mentor undergraduate students in the Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences major;
- Demonstrated success working effectively with culturally diverse students, colleagues, and communities, including intercultural communication skills, awareness of diverse cultural values and beliefs, and willingness to examine your own cultural biases.
The Department of Applied Human Sciences is the home to multiple undergraduate degree programs: Childhood Nature Studies, Outdoor Learning and Recreation, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences, Physical Education Teacher Education, and Public Health. The curriculum of the degree programs reflects the accreditation standards of the various disciplines. Students graduate from these degree programs with a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree. There are currently over 500 majors enrolled in the degree programs offered by the department. The students in the programs come from Minnesota, Wisconsin, across the Midwest and nationally and internationally. Our department strongly supports international educational opportunities and interdisciplinary work.

Pay Range: $56,432 - $63,005 per year -Assistant Professor (Job Code 9403) or $63,006 - $67,718 -Associate Professor (Job Code 9402); depending on education/qualifications/experience
