The successful candidate will teach a secondary biology methods course and a broad range of education courses. The candidate must be
able to collaborate with teacher education faculty to maintain program excellence and coherence, develop and maintain an active research
agenda, and have a record of exemplary experience as a classroom teacher. All courses are taught on campus. Opportunities to teach in the
MEd and EdD programs may be available.
Responsibilities:
- Teach 24 credit hours per academic
year - Supervise students during clinical practice
- Develop/revise the curriculum to reflect current trends in teacher
education programs - Serve as an advisor to CoE majors
- Recruit prospective students
- Serve on college and university
committees - Attend and participate in departmental and university functions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Active teaching certificate in biology in grades 9-12. Ph. D. or Ed. D. in Education with three years of
classroom experience teaching secondary biology. Experience in leadership and/or middle grades is preferred.
