Develop goals, objectives and policies for the dental education
program within the KCU College of Dental Medicine
Implement and deliver the oral surgery didactic curriculum
including pre-clinical materials, simulation and laboratory
exercises
Integrate evidence-based best practices with clinical patient
care and guide current research and scholarly activity in oral
surgery
Assure the safe and effective delivery of dental care by the
dental students
Deliver clinical treatment for patients as needed in the Oral
Health Center
Serve as an advisor, coach and/or mentor to dental students
expressing a desire for advanced education in oral surgery
Mentor dental student research in the area of oral surgery when
applicable
Serve as faculty advisor for community-based activities in the
realm of oral surgery
Conduct summative and formative pre-clinical and clinical
student assessment in oral surgery
Perform other duties as assigned by supervising faculty or
Dean
Qualifications:
- D.D.S./D.M.D. degree or equivalent
- Completion of an Advanced Education Program in Oral Surgery
(certificate, Master's Degree, or higher)
- Current Missouri dental license or have an active dental
license in a US state or Canada and be eligible for licensure in
Missouri; or evidence of eligibility to receive an unrestricted
Missouri dental license or a Missouri Faculty license.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in oral surgery
preferred
- A strong desire to improve the oral and overall health for
patients in the region through collaboration with other primary
care professionals is encouraged
