Qubit implementations using neutral atoms, trapped ions,
superconductors, semiconductors, or wide-bandgap crystals
Quantum instrumentation, including cryogenic hardware
Architectures for quantum computing, networking, and
sensing
The successful candidate will build a research program in ECE at
UW-Madison that heavily leverages the regional quantum ecosystem
through the Wisconsin Quantum Institute (WQI). Experimental
research will heavily leverage the Wisconsin Centers for Nanoscale
Technology, particularly the Nanoscale Fabrication Center, a 10,000
sq. ft cleanroom on campus.
Outstanding candidates at all levels (Assistant, Associate, Full
Professor rank) will be considered.
The ECE Department at UW-Madison has a long tradition of excellence

Quantum Exchange. In addition, ECE faculty are members of National
Quantum Information Science Centers, including Q-NEXT and Hybrid
Quantum Architectures and Networks (HQAN). Candidates who have

Key Job Responsibilities:
Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and contributing to
curriculum updates and innovations; mentoring graduate students and
supervising their research; developing and directing a successful,
extramurally funded research program; participating in departmental
and university shared governance; and contributing to professional
and public service. Faculty at the associate or full professor rank
will also have the responsibility of leading large research
proposals and center-type activities.

research program and the skills to implement it, and a commitment
to high-quality undergraduate and graduate instruction and
mentoring. Associate and Full Professor candidates must possess
experience and scholarly credentials that meet the tenure standards
of the UW-Madison Physical Sciences Divisional Committee and the
College of Engineering.
