Looking for an opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills in tertiary education? An exciting position has become available in our Disability Support Services for an Assistive Technology Advisor. You'll be part of a team that provides a broad range of student services, from assistance with student administration matters through to pastoral care; empowering students to achieve their academic and personal goals. Our services are delivered across multiple channels; phone, email, in-person and online.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
The Assistive Technology Advisor provides advice and support on accessibility for disabled students to our team of Student Advisors. It promotes the use of technologies and services, provides students with access to specialist technologies and equipment to support their learning, and provides training in use of specialised equipment and software. The role also advises on accessibility standards for students and liaises with students, faculties and external providers to produce study materials in alternative accessible formats. Primarily this role will be located on the city campus, however flexibility to work across all our Student Hubs (including north and south) is required.

To be successful in this role you will be dynamic and innovative, agile and solution-focused with proven success in a similar position demonstrating:
- an assistive technology background with a passion for supporting students' success
- knowledge of disability-based support services
- an ability to deliver a high quality, professional service with a culture of customer care
- an understanding of advisory support delivered via a case management model
- extensive experience with technology and relationship management software
You will be professional and calm and have demonstrated a willingness to go the extra mile. An ability to juggle and complete multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy environment while remaining calm under pressure is a must and, if alongside all of this are a great team player, we want to hear from you!
