Position Summary:
Reporting to the Head Coach, Women's Basketball, the Associate Coach assists in the organization, planning, teaching, and coaching of all practices and games, as well as in the recruitment of new student-athletes. The Associate Coach serves as the Head Coach's second-in-command.
This position requires frequent travel and evening and weekend hours.
Essential Functions:
- Works closely with the Head Coach on game strategy and identifying and recruiting prospective student-athletes.
- Assists the Head Coach in the individual skill development of student-athletes.
- Evaluates, identifies, and recruits quality student-athletes in compliance with University, Atlantic 10, and NCAA regulations and policies.
- Assists with social media, promoting the program on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
- Complies with all NCAA, Atlantic 10, and University rules and regulations.
- Acts as the Assistant Defensive Coordinator.
- Acts as the interim Head Coach in the absence of the Head Coach.
- Provides individual counseling and mentoring to student-athletes when appropriate and directs the student-athlete to professional staff when needed
- Provides enhanced individual skill instruction to improve team performance.
- Advises, guides, and develops players.
- Oversees game-day operations.
- Serves as equipment liaison; selects design and orders gear for program and staff.
- Conducts weekly meetings to organize staff for recruiting.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a basketball coach, student athlete.
Preferred Qualifications:
Coaching experience in an NCAA program.
Valid Driver's License.
Minimum Salary: $125,000
Maximum Salary: $145,000
