Associate Dean, Student Success
Overview
The Associate Dean, Student Success directs all programs and services that promote student success across the College of Arts Science (CAS). Programs include Presidential Scholars, Student Research, Academic Standards, leave and readmissions processes, University Learning Center (ULC), the Academic Achievement Program (AAP), Proud to Be First and other mentorship, advising and support programs. Partner with University offices of Student Success, Student Affairs, Provost's Office, Financial Aid, Bursar, Housing, Wellness, and others to support student success, retention, and graduation. Serve as CAS point person for student emergencies. Partner with academic departments to identify and intervene in student academic difficulties where additional support is needed. Promote best practices in student success in the classroom.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Doctoral Degree
Required Experience:
7+ years experience in academic administration, counseling, or student affairs
Preferred Experience:
Data collection and using data to inform planning and programs.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Staff supervision and staff development, to foster teams and individuals. Knowledge of best practices in student success and retention; ability to support and engage high achieving students; sensitivity and fairness in supporting students having academic difficulties; an ability to engage faculty and staff in student success and support. Global outlook and experience in global academic experiences.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $155,000.00 to USD $195,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
