The Blinn College District is searching for a Associate Degree Nursing- Part-Time Teaching Assistant at our RELLIS Campus.
Job Summary
The Clinical Teaching Assistant (CTA) supports qualified and experienced nursing faculty in the supervision and facilitation of student clinical learning experiences. Working under the direct oversight of designated nursing faculty, the CTA assists with clinical instruction, student guidance, and evaluation within approved affiliating agencies or alternative practice settings. Clinical Teaching Assistants function in a supportive instructional role and do not replace faculty responsibility for student supervision, evaluation, or program accountability.
Principal Accountabilities
- Assist qualified and experienced nursing faculty in the supervision of student clinical learning experiences in approved settings.
- Supervise nursing students during clinical experiences with the designated faculty member.
- Support the implementation of written clinical objectives as provided by nursing faculty, ensuring alignment with program outcomes and course requirements.
- Collaborate with designated faculty to enhance clinical learning experiences and support student skill development, clinical reasoning, and professional behaviors.
- Participate in periodic meetings with designated faculty and students to monitor and evaluate clinical learning experiences.
- Communicate regularly with faculty regarding student progress, performance concerns, and learning needs during clinical experiences.
- Support a philosophy of healthcare and nursing practice that is congruent with the mission and values of the nursing education program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
- Must hold a bachelor's degree or higher in nursing.
- Must hold a current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas.
- Have at least two (2) years in the last four (4) years of nursing practice experience.
Minimum Competencies
Demonstrate clinical expertise sufficient to function safely and effectively in the designated teaching area.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of the associate degree nursing curriculum and instructional methodology and techniques; Knowledge of the Texas Administrative Code Part 11, Chapter 215, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
