Associate Director - ELA
Position Summary
The Associate Director supports the Director in the strategic, operational, and academic leadership of the English Language Academy Programming (English Fundamentals Program, Community Education Program and Corporate Training Program) This role ensures high-quality instruction, consistent program delivery, faculty training, and alignment with institutional accreditation standards. The Associate Director oversees the Program Coordinators assigned to these programs in addition to curriculum implementation, faculty evaluation processes, program assessment cycles, and ensures efficient day-to-day operations across all program levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director in strategic planning and annual program development.
- Oversee program operations to ensure consistency, quality, and timely delivery of all instructional services.
- Support the design, review, and implementation of curriculum, course materials, learning outcomes, and assessment tools.
- Supervise Program Coordinators and ensure implementation of program policies across all levels for English Fundamentals Program, Community Education Program and the Corporate Training Program
- Lead academic initiatives related to accreditation, quality assurance, and program review.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation of English language instructors.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide performance feedback.
- Lead professional development activities, workshops, and coaching for faculty.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience assisting leadership with strategic planning and contributing to annual program development.
- A strong ability to oversee day-to-day program operations, ensuring consistency, instructional quality, and timely delivery of services across multiple program areas.
- Expertise in curriculum and assessment development, including reviewing and implementing course materials, learning outcomes, and assessment tools aligned to program goals.
- Successful supervisory experience, including managing Program Coordinators and ensuring policy compliance across the English Fundamentals Program, Community Education Program, and Corporate Training Program.
- Demonstrated leadership in academic initiatives related to accreditation, quality assurance, and ongoing program review processes.
- Experience recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and evaluating English language instructors within a structured academic environment.
- Strong classroom observation skills and the ability to provide constructive, evidence-based performance feedback to faculty.
- A commitment to faculty growth, with the ability to lead and deliver professional development workshops, training sessions, and coaching that support teaching quality and student outcomes.
Education and Experience
- Required Education: Master’s degree or higher.
- Years of Relevant Experience: 10 years of experience.
- Specific Skills or Expertise: Quality assurance of training courses.
