"Associate Director, IT Operations and Information Security"

Job Description

As the Associate Director of IT Operations and Information Security, you will lead the comprehensive collaboration, design, development, and implementation of enterprise infrastructure and information security architecture, solutions, and policies, while overseeing day-to-day IT operations. This role ensures the security, stability, and usability of Harvard Kennedy School's technical infrastructure and data assets.

Responsibilities include leading a proactive security and IT operations program, managing and mentoring the team, overseeing IT infrastructure design and configuration, providing strategic oversight of information security, directing security operations, maintaining monitoring systems, leading adoption of IT solutions, partnering with stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor, collaborating on IT strategy, ensuring identity and access management, developing documentation, promoting secure computing practices, staying current on threats, and contributing to IT governance.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: Minimum of seven years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience and supervisory experience.

Additional Qualifications and Skills: 7+ years of relevant IT experience, including leadership in infrastructure and information security; 2+ years of direct management experience; hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud platforms; strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks; experience with risk assessment and disaster recovery; excellent communication skills; and preferred certifications like CISSP or CISA.
