Job Summary
The Defense Industrial Base Institute (DIBI) at Northeastern University seeks an experienced Associate Director of Stakeholder Engagement to build and maintain strategic relationships with partners across the public, private, and higher education sectors. Working closely with the Senior Director for Public Outreach, this individual will develop and execute comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategies and public outreach initiatives to support DIBI's mission to transform the nation's defense industrial base.
This role involves strategic relationship management, communications strategy, and operational excellence. The Associate Director will lead the implementation and management of the Salesforce CRM system, coordinate events with senior executives, manage projects, and ensure effective engagement experiences. Responsibilities include developing communication plans, creating messaging frameworks, and measuring outreach effectiveness.
Reporting to the Senior Director for Public Outreach, this position supervises an Operations Manager and collaborates with university teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field, with 7+ years of experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, and/or marketing.
- Experience in research, government, or agency sectors is preferred.
- Strong project management, organizational, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, supervise staff, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to federal contract obligations.
- May require up to 10% travel.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Stakeholder Engagement and CRM Management (40%)
- Lead implementation and management of Salesforce Government Cloud CRM.
- Develop stakeholder databases and engagement strategies.
- Track metrics and coordinate communication campaigns.
Project Management and Event Planning & Execution (25%)
- Manage projects and execute events like conferences and workshops.
- Handle event logistics, budgets, and post-event evaluations.
Communication, Administrative Support and Strategy (25%)
- Develop and implement communication strategies.
- Create content and messaging frameworks.
- Collaborate on planning and ensure alignment with university guidelines.
Team Leadership & Special Projects (10%)
- Supervise and mentor the Operations Manager.
- Support cross-functional collaboration and special projects.

Compensation
Grade/Pay Type: 111S
Expected Hiring Range: $86,490.00 - $122,163.75
