Job Description Summary:
Serve as the Director of Student Affairs for the College of Law and Public Service, assisting the Dean, Registrar, Associate Deans, Faculty support staff, and students. Responsible for student activities at a college and manages student organizations and clubs. Manages student organization budgets, oversees student activities, and plans other recreational and social events for different student groups.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for students
- Excellent oral and written public and interpersonal communication skills
- Flexibility and the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Intermediate knowledge and technical aptitude in operating computers and software programs like Microsoft Office, desktop publishing programs like Adobe, and professional software like Banner.

Specific Duties:
Duty: Student Support Services
- Provide strategic leadership, vision, and management that creates a dynamic student life program that supports the school’s mission.
- Provide academic, personal, and professional support to students.
- Advocate for student mental health and wellness, including referrals to counseling and community-based services.
- Support students through one-on-one advising and referrals to campus and community resources. Address student conduct issues in coordination with University Student Affairs—navigating both CLPS MAPP and University Student Conduct Policies.
- Serve as the administrative review officer responsible for investigating student conduct violations as defined in the CLPS’s Manual of Academic Policies and Procedures.
- Initiate, conduct and manage procedures associated with student conduct violations, including, but not limited to conducting investigations and administrative hearings.
- Recommend disciplinary sanctions to the Dean of the College of Law and Public Service.
- Design and implement creative restorative justice disciplinary sanctions where appropriate.
- Administer CLPS’s and University policies affecting students’ health and safety.
- Serve as the Campus Security Authority under the Cleary Act.
- Serve as a member of the University’s Campus Assessment, Response, and Evaluation team and the University’s Behavioral Intervention team.
- Offer students in crisis the care, support, resource referral, and advising necessary for academic success and personal wellness.
Percentage of Time: 30%
Duty: Student Organization & Co-Curricular Programming
- Manage operations and programming of all student organizations.
- Advise student leaders and ensure compliance with institutional policies.
- Support student engagement through coordination of events and initiatives.
Percentage of Time: 20%
Duty: Career Development
- Support students in pursuing and advancing their career opportunities.
- Engage, coordinate, and collaborate with local, regional, and state-wide employers re: employment and externship opportunities for CLPS students. Administer to university Hand-Shake portal (and other portals) providing informational networks for students and alumni employment opportunities.
- Host and coordinate on-campus employment fairs, campus interviews, and informational panels regarding employment opportunities for students.
Percentage of Time: 20%
Duty: Institutional Events Coordination
- Oversee planning and execution of major events, including new student orientation, CLPS events, hooding ceremony, and graduation.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure successful delivery.
Percentage of Time: 30%
Salary Range
Maximum: $87,640.42
Minimum: $82,596.92
