PRIMARY FUNCTION

Landmark College seeks an experienced researcher in neurodiversity and/or accessibility to serve as the Associate Director of the Landmark College Institute for Research and Training (Research). The Associate Director has primary responsibility for coordinating all research activities within the Landmark College Institute for Research and Training (LCIRT) and supervising a team of researchers. They will be responsible for proposing and carrying out discovery and applied research on education…

(secondary and/or higher education) and neurodivergent students, namely those with learning disabilities, ADHD, and/or autism. The Associate Director will be expected to actively pursue public and private grants to expand research activities. In addition to conducting discovery and applied research, the Associate Director will be responsible for the management of LCIRT’s research lab and associated programs including the LCIRT Research Mentorship Program for neurodivergent undergraduate students. As such, they will hold the additional title of Research Faculty. The Associate Director will also coordinate the College-wide Research Lunch and Learn program focused on supporting faculty and staff in the expansion of research capacity. On occasion, the Associate Director will create and deliver evidence-based professional development offerings to external educators and other stakeholders. The Associate Director will supervise research staff and report to the Senior Director of LCIRT and hold the additional title of Research Professor.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Produce discovery and/or applied research on education (secondary and/or higher education) and neurodivergence.
Supervise research staff.
Manage the LCIRT research lab and associated programs.
Support the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of neurodivergent undergraduate research assistants and interns.
Seek extramural funding by identifying, contacting, and writing proposals to funding agencies, foundations, and programs. Serve as Principal Investigator, Project Director, Project Manager, and other roles on grants and funded initiatives. Collect and analyze data using quantitative and/or qualitative methods to evaluate instructional design, learning technologies, and other education-related interventions. Manage projects by tracking goals, activities, timelines and resources, ensuring quality of deliverables and services throughout the entire project.
Collaborate with team members to develop research capacity through mentoring and inter-disciplinary/departmental research initiatives.
Disseminate research findings in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and other channels as appropriate.
Deliver customized presentations and training to clients at educational institutions, public and private organizations, conferences and symposia as needed. Oversee campus and community outreach initiatives associated with research and neurodiversity.
Maintain expertise on domain-specific research and trends in education through professional journals, conferences, and other professional development opportunities.
Chair the Landmark College Institutional Review Board (IRB).
Perform other duties as assigned or directed by the President of the College, Vice President for Neurodiversity Research and Innovation, and Senior Director of LCIRT.
