Job Description:

City University of Seattle's School of Education and Leadership is seeking an experienced educational leader for course EEA 516: Professional Growth Assessment and Practicum in our MEd in Educational Leadership program.

This course allows aspiring and practicing educational leaders to step back, reflect on their leadership practice, and develop a meaningful plan for continued professional growth. Drawing on professional standards, their own educational context, and the guidance of an experienced leader, students examine their current knowledge, skills, and dispositions and identify areas for further development.

As an Associate Faculty member, you will help students connect leadership theory and professional standards to the realities of their work in schools and educational settings. You will facilitate thoughtful reflection, encourage analysis of instructional and organizational contexts, and support students as they develop a Professional Growth Plan for school and/or program leadership.

In this course, students will:

• Assess their professional environment through multiple lenses
• Explain and apply essential elements of professional standards for educational leadership
• Identify personal strengths and areas for growth across the strands of professional standards
• Analyze educational issues and use relevant information to inform leadership and student learning
• Engage in reflective practice and develop a plan for continued professional growth

We are looking for an experienced educational leader who can bring practical leadership experience, professional perspective, and a commitment to developing the next generation of school leaders.

Requirements:

Required qualifications:

• Master's degree in Educational Leadership or a closely related field
• Experience in building-level and/or district-level educational leadership
• Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting aspiring educational leaders and familiarity with professional or state certification standards are highly valued.
• Postsecondary teaching experience preferred, particularly at the graduate level
• Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback, facilitate reflection, and support professional growth.
• Experience teaching or facilitating learning in an online or hybrid environment preferred
• Comfort using learning management systems and virtual teaching technologies
