Job Description:
City University of Seattle's School of Education and Leadership is seeking an experienced educational leader to serve as a part-time Associate Faculty member in our Master of Education (MEd) in Leadership program for course EEA 519 - School Climate and Culture.
A positive school climate and culture can shape how students learn, how educators work together, and how families and communities experience their schools. This course explores the practices and systems educational leaders can use to build positive, inclusive, and supportive learning communities where all students can thrive.
As an Associate Faculty member, you will help graduate students examine the relationship between school climate, culture, student achievement, relationships, and well-being. Students explore topics including social-emotional learning, cultural diversity, equity, restorative justice, and systems of support, while learning how to use research and data to identify opportunities for meaningful school improvement.
You will guide students in connecting these concepts to their own educational settings and developing practical strategies?including professional development?to strengthen school climate and culture.
In this course, students will:
- Examine research on the impact of social-emotional learning on student achievement and behavior
- Explore the relationship between school climate, culture, relationships, achievement, and student well-being
- Consider the perspectives of students, educators, families, and communities in understanding school climate and culture
- Apply tools and data to assess school climate and culture and identify opportunities for school improvement
- Explore culturally responsive, equitable, and restorative approaches to building supportive learning communities
- Design professional development to support improvements in school climate and culture

We are looking for an experienced educational leader who understands that a strong school community is built through relationships, inclusive practices, thoughtful leadership, and intentional systems of support.
Requirements:
Required qualifications:
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Education, or a closely related field
- Experience in school-level and/or district-level educational leadership
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience teaching, mentoring, coaching, or developing educators
- Experience leading or supporting initiatives related to school climate, culture, social-emotional learning, student well-being, equity, restorative practices, or community engagement
- Experience using school climate or student data to inform school improvement
- Experience designing or facilitating professional development for educators
- Experience teaching or facilitating learning in an online or hybrid environment

Salary Information:
Associate Faculty compensation ranges from $500 to $4,600 per course assigned. Compensation varies based on factors including course level (undergraduate or graduate), number of course credits, and enrollment.
