MUS 332 – Harmonizing Cultures: Music and Global Society
This course explores music’s multifaceted role in the human experience, emphasizing the cultural, social, and global contexts in which it exists through the lens of research conducted in multicultural Singapore. Students will engage with music from various traditions, reflecting on its impact on global interconnectivity and its contribution to our understanding of humanity. Through research, critical analysis, and presentations, students will investigate how music shapes cultural identities, influences global markets and politics, and reflects the complexities of what it means to be human.
Job Requirement
A Ph.D or Master's Degree in related discipline from a reputable university.
At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience at the tertiary level is preferred
5 years of relevant work experience will be an added advantage
Course design and implementation based on UB syllabus and textbook
Assessment of students
Must be available to teach daytime on weekdays
Familiarity with Blackboard/ D2L is a plus
