Associate Lecturer in Geography
The School of Social Sciences at Birkbeck, University of London is seeking a part-time Associate Lecturer to teach the module Environmental Observation by Remote Sensing (Level 7 postgraduate). This role involves 30 hours of teaching from January to March 2026, specifically on Fridays from 6-9pm. Duties include delivering lectures, seminars, and associated assessment supervision and marking.
Essential requirements include knowledge of Remote Sensing, experience with Remote Sensing and GIS software, and expertise in areas such as managing and processing remote sensing data, utilizing remote sensing data for modeling environmental dynamics, cloud-based image analysis, modeling land cover change, and applying machine learning approaches to analyze environmental phenomena. Candidates must be qualified to the corresponding level of the award or have equivalent professional experience.
Remuneration is based on an hourly rate of £68.13, inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay. This is a fixed-term, part-time contract from January 2026 to March 2026.
