Our game changing Southern Cross Model brings a deeper, focused learning experience and our research is deeply connected to our regions, making a difference on a global scale. This is your chance to help us build something new and meaningful for our students, our communities and your career. To drive change, make a real impact, and thrive in a place as unique as you.

You can be good anywhere. Here, you can be great.

Your opportunity

Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Business, Law and Arts is seeking an Associate Lecturer or Lecturer in Law to join our expanding Law discipline. You’ll become part of a tight-knit, highly collegial team of full-time academics and sessional staff, creating a learning environment that is grounded in real-world legal practice.

You will make an impact by:

  • Delivering engaging, high-quality teaching across law units using contemporary pedagogies
  • Translating legal practice and scholarship into meaningful learning experiences for students
  • Contributing to curriculum development within a growing and evolving law discipline
  • Participating in research and/or scholarship activities aligned to your experience and interests
  • Engaging collegially with academic and sessional staff to support an inclusive, positive team culture

What you will bring

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about teaching law, enjoys working closely with students, and values collaboration with colleagues and the profession.

To succeed in this role, you will also need:

  • A doctoral qualification (PhD) in Law or a related field (required for Level B), or significant progress towards completion (for Level A)
  • Demonstrated ability to teach law across blended and online technologies in a university setting
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within and across diverse teams
  • An appropriate track record relevant to level in scholarship as evidenced by research grants and publication output, or other comparable scholarly achievements
  • While not essential, we’d love it if you had legal practice experience. If you don’t have this experience but still think you would be a great fit, we still encourage you to apply.
