Associate Lecturer – UNSW Lifestyle Clinic
- Employment Type: Part - time (21 hours a week) with possibility of additional hours if required
- Duration: Continuing
- Remuneration: $91k - $121k base prorated (+17% super, annual leave loading)
- Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.
- Location: Randwick, Sydney (role is fully on site)
The UNSW Lifestyle Clinic is an initiative of UNSW Medicine & Health. It is an allied health facility, connecting academics and clinicians with individuals in our community, to deliver quality services in lifestyle assessment and lifestyle change programs. The clinic has a focus on preventative health programs, as well as rehabilitation. The aspiration of the Clinic is to improve the health of our community, while enabling education through UNSW Student work integrated learning and providing innovative care through engagement in School of Health Sciences and other UNSW research programs.
About the role
The Associate Lecturer, Lifestyle will make a significant contribution to the delivery of Student work integrated learning in Exercise Physiology and Exercise Science, combining clinical practice with student supervision in the UNSW Medicine & Health Lifestyle Clinic. The role involves delivery of clinical services, teaching and clinical supervision, assessing student learning outcomes, and contributing to the design and delivery of teaching and assessment practices. The role also includes providing individual and cohort-based academic support to enhance student progression, learning outcomes, and employability.
Key skills and experience required:
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience
- Accredited in Exercise Physiology with Exercise and Sports Science Australia
- Knowledge and experience across a breadth of clinical practice to deliver person-centred care
- Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development
- Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching and assessment at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline-based curriculum design, especially with respect to clinical education and development at a variety of levels and scales)
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry or experience of work-integrated learning (desirable)
