Associate or Assistant Professor
The Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center seeks outstanding researchers to fill two tenure-track positions at the level of Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. We seek candidates to complement and extend departmental and campus-wide research in neural circuits of mental health, neurodegeneration/Alzheimer’s Disease, and related areas. Research incorporating state-of-the-art in vivo approaches to study neural circuits is encouraged, including optogenetics, chemogenetics, electrophysiology and imaging.
Basic Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree and excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates at the assistant professor level are expected to demonstrate strong potential for establishing a rigorous, independent, and federally-funded research program. Appointment as an Associate Professor requires demonstrated sustained extramural grant support, and research and scholarship that are consistent with an appointment to that rank at a research-intensive university.
