aquatic and oceanic sciences, which are the core areas of strength of our department, as well as interdisciplinary fields that bridge these areas together. Candidates with strong expertise in data analytics, machine learning, computing and modeling, and advanced quantitative methods are highly desired.

Applicants should have (i) a Ph.D. degree, and preferably postdoctoral experience, in the Earth and Environmental Sciences, or related fields; and (ii) an excellent track record or strong potential for teaching and research excellence.
The appointees will be expected to (a) develop a vigorous, externally funded research programme; and (b) contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including but not limited to data analytics, computing and modelling, quantitative methods, and interdisciplinary subject areas.
Appointments will initially be made on contract basis up to three years commencing August 2026, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.
