We are looking for a colleague to join the Department of Philosophy with focus on continental philosophy.
MAIN JOB CONTENT
Pedagogical
- Creative application of the results of scientific research within educational activity, in particular to the supervision of students in a doctoral or Master’s degree programmes.
- Conducting lectures or other forms of teaching in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme. Supervising and reviewing Master’s and doctoral theses.
- Acting as a guarantor of a degree programme and/or a member of the doctoral board of a doctoral degree programme.
- Acting on boards for doctoral state examinations and defences of doctoral theses, membership in committees for final state examinations or Advanced Master’s state examinations.
- Reviewer’s assessment of doctoral or habilitation theses, or participation on the board for habilitation or appointment procedures.
- Participating in publishing activity for educational purposes.
Research
- Investigating the tasks of basic or applied research of fundamental importance for the given scientific and the publication of its results in peer-reviewed journals and scientific monographs.
- Active participation in domestic and foreign scientific conferences and professional meetings and the presentation of research results.
- Peer-review and review activity at the national level in the assessment of projects within the relevant field.
Other
Participation in ensuring operational and administrative activities related to the academic position according to the instructions of the department head, e.g.:
- routine administrative tasks in the administration of own courses, use of e-learning and communication with students via the MU Information System,
- organising and participating in foreign internships for students and academic staff,
- participation in the promotion of the field.
WE REQUEST
Professional education, qualifications and experience
- habilitation (appointment as associate professor) – a condition
- professional focus on continental philosophy – a condition
- scientific grants, international publications
- experience in the field of philosophy at least 10 years – an advantage
Language skills
- knowledge of English language at C1/C2 level
- excellent knowledge of the Czech language in both written and spoken form
- a high level of knowledge in at least one of the following languages: French, German
Requirements related to job content
- presentation, organizational, didactic and mentoring skills at an advanced level
- ability to translate the results of research into teaching
- ability to independently solve and lead research projects of fundamental importance to the field
- ability to publish independently
- ability to present research results to international experts and the general public
- patience, consideration, empathy, and friendliness when working and dealing with people
