Edinburgh Napier University (ENU) is an innovative, inclusive and ambitious University, focused on the impact of its demand-led teaching and research. We are proud to be ranked the top modern university in Scotland (THE World University Rankings 2024) and we are the leading Edinburgh university for student satisfaction for the last 6 years (NSS 2020-2025). Our research is world leading and we are delighted to be considered as the top Scottish modern university for research power and impact (REF, 2021).

Our School of Health & Social Care is a vibrant academic community for over 3,400 students and 140 staff. Our strategic aim is to make an enduring impact on health, care and society in Scotland and beyond. We do that through the provision of high-quality programmes of education as well as research/knowledge exchange.

Currently, we are offering an opportunity to join our fantastic team as an Associate Professor (College Partnerships), who’s focus will be to provide strategic oversight of the partnerships the School has with further education colleges in Scotland.

The role:

As Associate Professor (College Partnerships), you will have the opportunity to use your academic experience to provide strategic leadership which will enhance, coordinate and expand the School’s relationships with Scotland’s Further Education (FE) colleges.

The role will give you the remit to use your knowledge of partnership working and college outreach to ensure high‑quality, sustainable and seamless pathways from FE to HE, support student recruitment linked to college articulation routes and wider, while contributing to the design and delivery of innovative programmes aligned to the needs of college‑based learners.

Further to this, your knowledge of the health and social care academic landscape (in particular midwifery and nursing), will put you in an excellent position to contribute to the School’s research, teaching, and knowledge exchange ambitions, in turn helping us maintain our international reputation for excellence in these areas.

Upon joining us, you will become part of a team of motivated, approachable, and professional individuals, committed to their disciplines, who have a good sense of camaraderie and expectations about supporting each other using a partnership approach, with the focus of building each other and the organisational objective of building careers.

If you are passionate about these things and have the skills and expertise to help us make a real world difference in the health and social care sector, then we would love to hear from you.

What we will need from you:

  • Doctoral level qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Qualification in Nursing at least to MSc level
  • NMC registered
  • Profile that demonstrates at least national standing and some international engagement
  • Demonstrable experience of success in working collaboratively with the FE sector and supporting student recruitment activities
  • A passion for teaching, learning and personal/professional development
  • PVG Membership (or willingness to apply)

Benefits we offer:

46 days annual leave (includes bank holidays), generous pension scheme (26%), flexible working and professional development opportunities. Further information can be viewed here.

Salary: £58,225 - £69,488 per annum (Grade 7)

Contract: Permanent, Full Time – 35 hrs/wk

Interviews: Wek commencing 6th April 2026

Please note: We are reviewing applications as they come in and may close the advert early once we find the right candidate. If this role interests you, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
