Associate Professor – Commerce & Management (Discipline Lead)
Position Summary
The Associate Professor – Commerce & Management will hold a senior academic position within the Business School and will also be Discipline Lead, contributing to high-quality teaching, curriculum leadership, research, and academic governance.
The role involves delivering and leading programs in commerce and management disciplines, fostering an engaging learning environment, mentoring faculty, and strengthening industry-academic collaborations. The appointee will also contribute to impactful research and academic innovation aligned with the University’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate commerce and management programs
- Facilitate learning through face-to-face, online, and blended modes
- Develop engaging teaching materials, case studies, and applied learning experiences
- Lead curriculum design, development, and continuous improvement
- Ensure alignment with global academic standards and industry needs
- Coordinate subjects/units and mentor junior faculty members
- Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputed academic journals
- Contribute to the University’s research strategy and impact agenda
- Lead or collaborate on research projects and academic initiatives
- Build strong industry partnerships and collaborations
- Integrate industry practices into teaching and curriculum
- Support internships, live projects, and experiential learning
- Supervise postgraduate research students (Masters/PhD)
- Provide academic mentoring and career guidance to students
- Participate in assessment, moderation, and quality assurance processes
- Contribute to academic governance and institutional committees
- Support international collaborations and partnerships
- Ensure compliance with academic policies, accreditation, and quality standards
Qualifications & Selection Criteria
- Ph.D. in Commerce, Management, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline from a recognised and reputable university.
- Demonstrated record of academic excellence, including high-quality teaching, research publications, and curriculum development.
- Substantial experience in higher education, preferably within well-regarded national or international institutions.
- Proven leadership experience in academic roles (e.g., Program Lead, Discipline Lead, Head of Department, or equivalent), with the ability to mentor faculty and drive academic initiatives.
- Strong industry engagement and the ability to build partnerships that enhance student learning and employability outcomes.
- Experience in academic governance, accreditation processes, and quality assurance frameworks is desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural academic environment.
