IQS School of Engineering, integrated in Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, offers Bachelors in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biotechnology, Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, as well as Masters and PhD programs in science and engineering. The Department of Chemical Engineering and Material Sciences, beyond its participation in teaching Bachelor’s fundamental modules courses, is responsible for teaching Chemical Engineering and related areas in Bachelors and Masters of IQS School of Engineering. IQS is currently looking for candidates starting on 2026-2027 academic year to fill the position of:

Associate Professor in the area of Chemical Engineering

Associate Professor (Profesor/a Contratado/a Doctor/a) to join the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science for teaching and developing research activities as well as other academic duties. Main job functions include:

• Teaching core and advanced courses in Chemical Engineering at undergraduate and Master’s level (in English and/or Spanish).
• Coordination and teaching of laboratories in Chemical Engineering and related areas.
• Development of an independent and competitive research line, aligned with IQS and Ramon Llull University strategic priorities, and integrated within the Department’s research activities (Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Reaction Engineering, and Materials Engineering).
• Supervision of Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD theses.
• Actively participating in research project proposals, technology transfer, outreach events, competitive funding applications and internal collaborative research programs with other professors and researchers at IQS.
• Establish and foster research partnerships internationally.

Requirements:

• PhD in Chemical Engineering.
• Postdoctoral and/or relevant industrial experience will be positively valued.
• Proven experience in teaching at bachelor’s or master's level will be considered.
• Good level of English to be able to teach in this language.
• Publications in international journals and/or patents.
• Participation and/or leadership in competitive research projects will be considered.
• Accreditation of teaching and/or research activity by national evaluation agencies will be valuable or having enough merits to obtain it.
