Skills/Qualifications
- at least a doctoral degree and significant teaching or professional achievements,
- authorship of at least 12 popular-science or scholarly articles (including at least 5 within the 5 years prior to the application) OR at least three monographs/academic textbooks OR at least three sets of teaching materials
- role as principal investigator in at least one, or team member in at least two, educational or research projects OR completion of at least two teaching or research internships,
- at least 10 years of university-level teaching experience,
- documented organizational activity;
- fluent command of spoken and written English
Specific Requirements
- specialization in cardiac surgery and general surgery,
- experience working with pediatric patients,
- at least 20 years of experience in the surgical treatment of congenital heart defects in children, including newborns, infants, and premature babies,
- qualifications and experience in performing hybrid procedures in children,
- documented experience managing/heading a hospital ward,
- documented experience heading a department at a state university,
- a total academic output of at least 2,400 MNiSW points,
- first authorship of at least 50 publications,

Benefits
- Basic salary for the position of associate professor: PLN 8,010 gross.

- a statement on the state of health permitting work in the position of teaching associate professor*;
- statement on fulfillment of the conditions of art.113 of the Law of July 20, 2018. Law on higher education and Science*;
- Declarations of no criminal record with respect to the offenses specified in Chapters XIX and XXV of the Penal Code, in Article 189a and Article 207 of the Penal Code (i.e., Journal of Laws of 2024, item 17, as amended), and in the Act of July 29, 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 172, and of 2022, item 2600), or for corresponding offenses specified in foreign laws.

Selection process
- UWM in Olsztyn reserves the right to cancel the competition by the Rector without giving any reason at any stage of the competition proceedings.
