Position Details: Indiana State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Indiana State University Bailey College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Built Environment, at the rank of Associate Professor of Construction Management. The Associate Professor of Construction Management will carry out the following responsibilities: 1) Prepare and teach post-secondary introductory and upper level classroom courses in the theory and practice of Construction Management and other related introductory and upper level classroom courses within the Indiana State University Bailey College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Built Environment. The Associate Professor of Construction Management may be assigned to teach any of the following courses: CNST 100 - Introduction to Construction (3 Credits), CNST 106 - Building Information Modeling (3 Credits), CNST 111 - Construction Materials, Methods, and Equipment (3 Credits), CNST 118 - Soils Laboratory (1 Credit), CNST 201 - Construction Contract Documents and Project Delivery (3 Credits), CNST 213 - Environmental Control Systems (3 Credits), CNST 214 - Plan Interpretation and Quantity Take-Off (3 Credits), CNST 304 - Construction Scheduling (3 Credits), CNST 306 - Sustainable Design and Construction (3 Credits), CNST 314 - Estimating and Bid Preparation (3 Credits), CNST 318 - Statics and Strength of Materials (3 Credits), CNST 330 - Construction Accounting, Finance, and Safety (3 Credits), CNST 351 - Professional Internship (3 Credits), CNST 401 - Ethics and Construction (3 Credits), CNST 418 - Design of Temporary Support Systems (3 Credits), CNST 420 - Construction Surveying (3 Credits), CNST 450 - Construction Project Management (3 Credits), CNST 480 - Construction Capstone (3 Credits). 2) Evaluate and grade post-secondary students' class work, assignments, and papers, maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records, maintain regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students, compile, administer, and grade examinations, oversee student workers when applicable, and organize events to promote Indiana State University Bailey College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Built Environment courses and programs; 3) Lead and conduct graduate and undergraduate research and publication in regard to Construction Management and Engineering scholarly subject-matters, as well as other interdisciplinary research and publication within the Indiana State University Bailey College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Built Environment; and 4) Participate in Indiana State University governance by participating in faculty committee work and meetings, engaging with industry partners, assisting with accreditation activities, as well as providing input on matters relating to curriculum development and the learning environment within the Indiana State University Bailey College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Built Environment. The position requires a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in Construction, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Structure Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Engineering, or a similarly related field (A Foreign Educational Equivalent is acceptable).
