Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Associate/Professor of Education to join School of Education, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice.

The School of Education at QUT invites an outstanding Associate Professor/ Professor of Education to provide senior academic leadership in research, learning and teaching, and engagement. This role offers the opportunity to shape curriculum thinking, policy-informed research, and scholarly practice across initial teacher education, postgraduate programs, and research training, contributing to the School’s priorities at national and international levels. You will play a collaborative leadership role within the School, strengthening research culture, staff capability, and high-quality educational outcomes, while contributing to the broader strategic objectives of the Faculty and University.

What you need to succeed

  1. A doctoral qualification in education, sociology, curriculum or a closely related discipline, with demonstrated expertise relevant to Initial Teacher Education (ITE).
  2. An established and internationally recognised record of research and scholarship, including demonstrated leadership in research evidenced by high-quality publications and competitive research income.
  3. Demonstrated excellence and leadership in teaching and learning, including scholarly and innovative approaches to curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment.
  4. Demonstrated senior academic and professional leadership, including the ability to lead research culture, mentor staff, and contribute strategically to School and Faculty priorities.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to build and sustain effective collaborations and partnerships that enhance research, learning and teaching, and educational impact.
  6. Evidence of strategic, future-focused thinking and the ability to lead and adapt to change within a complex higher education environment.
  7. Eligibility for teacher registration in Queensland is highly desirable.
