About the Role
Trinity College Dublin and the Health Service Executive (HSE), Dublin South Central Mental Health Service are seeking an Associate Professor / Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist. The position is primarily based in the Academic Department of Psychiatry at St. James’s Hospital and involves clinical responsibilities at the Jonathan Swift Clinic.
The successful candidate will:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and supervision in psychiatry
- Conduct research and develop a two-year research plan, including funding strategies
- Provide clinical care in general adult psychiatry
Qualifications & Requirements
- Eligibility for the Associate Professor/Consultant level
- Strong record of clinical, teaching, and research experience in psychiatry

- Research Plan (2 pages) summarizing planned research and funding
- Teaching Statement (2 pages) summarizing experience and approach

Salary & Hours
- Salary: Associate Professor / Consultant, Public Only Consultant Contract (POCC23) – Academic scale, in line with government pay policy, commensurate with experience
- Hours: As per academic staff Public Service Agreements
