Offer Description
Otani University is an institution of higher education founded on the principles of Buddhist teachings, which serve as the basis for its education and research.
We are seeking applications for one full-time faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) in the Department of Intercultural Studies, Faculty of International Studies. The successful candidate will primarily teach specialized courses and related topics in the English Communication Program.
Work content and job description
Duties:
The successful candidate will teach courses including Seminar classes of the English Communication Program, Basics of Language Learning, Language and Culture in Society, Introduction to Intercultural Studies, Intensive English Conversation, and general education English courses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for educational activities at the university, including course administration, communication with parents/guardians, international exchange programs, language learning support services, and the supervision of study abroad programs. Additional responsibilities include research, and duties related to university admissions, public relations, and administration.

Annual salary: 7 million yen - 9 million yen
Wages description: The above amounts represent a model annual income including various allowances and bonuses. The base salary will be determined based on years of experience and other relevant factors, and the figures shown above are not guaranteed.
Working hours: 08:50-17:20
Break time: 11:30-12:30
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays established by The National Holidays Act (Excluding days by the university on which classes are held).
Overtime and other explanations: The teaching load is 12 hours per week (six 90-minute courses). Employees should perform school duties including internal campus committee work as needed.
When the discretionary labor system is applied, the deemed working hours will be 7 hours and 30 minutes per day, and the above-mentioned working hours and break times are for reference purposes only.
