expected to provide visionary leadership of innovative programs with a strong educator-researcher emphasis. In addition to the general oversight of the department, they will be responsible for strategic planning; budget development, management, and allocation; recruitment and retention of faculty and students; faculty, staff, and student development; management and improvement of curricula; evaluating faculty performance; program assessments and reviews, obtaining and maintaining accreditation; developing external partnerships; interacting with other departments and university leaders to represent the goals of the department. The Department Chair must implement strategies to develop research infrastructure. Other responsibilities include overseeing course schedules, faculty evaluations, and supervision of departmental staff, as well as providing leadership and vision for the department. The chair is also expected to conduct research in their area of expertise and publish in refereed journals and/or conference proceedings, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses within the Department (reduced teaching load) and serving on departmental, college, and university-level committees. The successful candidate must possess: (a) a doctoral degree in Psychology, (b) experience that will support appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, © a minimum of three years of experience in an administrative or management position and academic institution with comparable profile, (d) a minimum of three years teaching at the collegiate level at an institution that emphasized teaching, scholarly productivity, and engagement within their discipline, and (e) a strong record of extramural funding.
