Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position as Associate Professor or Professor of Social Work and Master's in Social Work Program Director (MSW) in the Department of Social Work and Human Services with a preferred start date of January 2027. This is a nine-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic, academic, and administrative leadership; ensure accreditation compliance; oversee graduate curriculum and assessment; support faculty and students; and represent the program internally and externally.
- Teach across a CSWE-accredited MSW program to include research, methods, and special topics.
- Department, College, University, and/or professional community service is expected. The desired candidate will serve as Chair of the Graduate Academic and Assessment Program Committee.
- Maintain a record of scholarship in their established field of research consistent with rank.
Required Qualifications
- An earned PH.D./DSW/Ed.D degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Social Work or a related discipline, is required at the time of hire.
- Prior experience as an MSW or BSW Program Director or Associate Director
- Demonstrated experience with CSWE accreditation standards, assessment, and compliance.
- MSW from a CSWE-accredited institution
- 5 years minimum in the Teaching Discipline of Social Work in a CSWE-accredited program.
- State Licensure in Social Work (LMSW) with the ability to transfer to Georgia in one year.
- 2 years minimum clinical/direct practice experience in the field
Additional (required) qualifications to be considered for a Professor position:
- Prior experience as an MSW or BSW Program Director
- 5 years minimum clinical/direct practice experience in the field
- Established research portfolio
- Have held the rank of Full Professor at another institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
- Mentoring doctoral students
- Licensure supervision
- Prior success in obtaining extramural funding
- Advanced Clinical License (LCSW)
- 5 years of direct practice skills
