Illinois Tech is expanding its global presence through the establishment of a new campus in Mumbai, India. The College of Computing at the Mumbai campus will offer the following degree programs:

- Bachelor’s in Artificial Intelligence
- Master’s in Artificial Intelligence
- Master’s in Data Science
To support these programs, Illinois Tech invites applications for Associate Professor and Professor level teaching-track faculty positions in Mathematics and Data Science.
Position Summary
Illinois Institute of Technology seeks experienced and accomplished educators for Associate Professor and Professor teaching-track positions in Mathematics and Data Science at its Mumbai campus.These positions are intended for candidates with significant teaching experience and expertise in mathematical and statistical foundations relevant to data science, artificial intelligence, and computing disciplines. Faculty members will contribute to delivering high-quality instruction, mentoring students, and helping shape the academic direction of Illinois Tech’s programs in Mumbai. Courses will be delivered in person in Mumbai, India, and online teaching is not an option.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science
- Deliver foundational and advanced courses such as:
- Calculus
- Discrete Mathematics
- Probability and Statistics
- Regression Analysis
- Time Series Analysis
- Bayesian Statistics
- Mathematical Foundations of Machine Learning
- Contribute to curriculum development and course design for data science and computing programs
- Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students
- Participate in departmental leadership, academic service, and program development
- Support interdisciplinary collaboration within the College of Computing
Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- A Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field
- Significant teaching experience at the university level
- Demonstrated expertise in mathematics and statistical methods relevant to data science
- Evidence of academic leadership, curriculum development, or program building (particularly for Professor-level candidates)
- Strong communication and student mentoring skills
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience teaching statistics and mathematics courses for data science, AI, or computing programs
- Experience with machine learning or computational statistics
- Prior experience teaching graduate-level courses
