Offer Description
The Institute of Medical Sciences of Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, announces an open competition for the position of Associate Professor (Professor of the University). The successful candidate should demonstrate a substantial research and publication record in medical sciences, experience in carrying out research projects and obtaining competitive research grants, and proven experience in teaching anatomy to medical students.

Skills/Qualifications
The competition is open to individuals who meet the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, Article 113 as amended) and who meet the following requirements:
- A postdoctoral degree (Habilitation) in Medical Sciences;
- A significant and documented publication record in the discipline of medical sciences, including publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals;
- At least five years of experience in teaching medical students, including anatomy courses;
- Experience in developing, implementing, or coordinating anatomy curricula within a medical degree programme;
- Documented experience in conducting research projects funded through competitive grant schemes, either as a principal investigator or as a research team member;
- Proficiency in English sufficient to conduct scientific research and deliver academic teaching.
- Willingness to designate Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, as the primary place of employment upon commencement of employment.
Specific Requirements
- At least five years of experience in research and teaching activities in the field of medical sciences.
- Experience in conducting scientific research and publishing research findings in internationally recognized journals.
- Experience in carrying out competitively funded research projects, either as a principal investigator or as a member of a research team.
- Experience in teaching anatomy to medical students.
- Experience in developing, implementing, or coordinating curricula in anatomy or other morphological sciences.
- Experience in delivering academic courses in English.
- Experience in administrative work within higher education institutions, particularly in managerial positions and in the organization of education within a medical degree programme.

Eligibility criteria
- The level and relevance of the candidate`s academic qualifications to the discipline of medical sciences and the scope of the position.
- The quality, significance, and international recognition of the candidate`s publication record.
- Experience in carrying out competitively funded research projects, with particular emphasis on project leadership and a proven track record in securing research funding.
- Academic teaching experience, particularly in teaching anatomy within a medical degree programme, and the alignment of the candidate`s teaching competencies with the scope of the planned courses.
- Experience in developing and coordinating educational programmes, preparing teaching materials, and delivering courses in English.
- Organizational and administrative experience in higher education, particularly in leadership roles and in the organization of medical education programmes.
- The candidate`s proposed concept for the development of scientific research and teaching activities, as well as their planned contribution to the further development of the medical degree programme and the Institute of Medical Sciences at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań.

- Diplomas or certificates issued by colleges and universities attesting to education and degrees or titles held (in case of academic degrees obtained abroad - the documents must meet the equivalence criteria set out in Article 328 of the Act of 20 July 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742 Polish: Dziennik Ustaw 2024 poz. 1571 t.j.);
- Information on the Applicant’s research, teaching and organizational achievements,
- Other documents as determined by the competition committee.
- Consent to the processing of personal data as follows: In accordance with Article 6 (1) (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation of 27 April 2016. Documents must be submitted to the Faculty Administration Office by 31 August 2026, quoting the competition reference number at the Office of the Rector’s Plenipotentiary for University Development (Collegium Minus, ul. Wieniawskiego 1, 61-712 Poznań, Room 107, First Floor).
- Competition committee begins working no later than 14 days after the deadline for submission of documents.
- Formal evaluation of submitted proposals.
- Call to provide additional or missing documents if necessary.
- Selection of candidates for the interview stage.
- Interviews for candidates who meet the formal requirements.
- The committee has the right to request external reviews of candidates' work or to ask candidates to conduct teaching assignments with an opportunity for student evaluation.
- The chair of the competition committee announces the results and informs the candidates. This information will include justification with a reference to candidates' strengths and weaknesses. Submitted documents will be sent back to candidates.
