Associate Professor
The Department of Urologic Sciences at The University of British Columbia (UBC) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor, grant tenure.
Reporting to the Head of the UBC Department of Urologic Sciences, the successful candidate will lead a research program focused on aging, metabolism, and development of innovative three-dimensional (3D) models of urologic cancers using fresh human tissue, including organoid and stem/progenitor cell-driven approaches. The ideal candidate will also bring recognized expertise in metabolomics to complement these research areas.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the teaching activities of the Department, as well as provide mentorship and training to undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate learners.
- A PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated expertise in prostate cancer biology, including aging, plasticity, and metabolism.
- Experience in developing 3D disease models using fresh human tissue.
- Experience in academic mentorship and supervision.
Preferred qualifications include a strong publication record and potential for securing external research funding, and experience in collaborative research and interdisciplinary initiatives.
